About.
A simpler kind of converter.
Most online OCR tools work the same way: you upload a file, wait for a distant server to read it, and hope your document is deleted afterward. We thought that was backwards. Modern browsers are powerful enough to run OCR themselves, so this tool does exactly that.
Image To Text Generator pairs an open-source on-device OCR engine withWeb Worker and Canvas APIs to recognize text in a background thread on your own device. The result is a converter with no upload queue, no account wall, and no server that could ever leak your images, because your images never arrive anywhere.
What we believe.
- Privacy should be architectural, not promised. Not collecting data beats protecting collected data.
- Tools should be instant. Open, drop, read, copy: four steps, no friction.
- Honesty beats hype. We don't claim perfect accuracy. OCR makes mistakes, and the editable result box exists precisely so you can fix them.
- Free means free. No credits, no watermarks, no login gates on the core tool.
How it's built.
A fast static site (Astro) for the content shell, a single interactive OCR island for the tool, lazy-loaded engine files that only download after you add an image, and zero backend (no database, no API, no authentication. You can read the full data story on our privacy page.
